Planned Obsolesence is a prototype for a deck-building game where players run a robot part shop and fix robots by playing certain cards that represent parts. My contribution was the artwork for parts and cards (and a dog radio). The other team members were Rachel Rudy (producer), Madison Gorman (artist), Nick Grinstead (programmer), and Thomas Revord (programmer).

The first art piece I did for this project. The radio was meant to add personality to the shop and play announcements that would tell players what kind of cards they might need for the next day.

This is the screen players see when they lose the game. It's supposed to show that without the player's shop, the robots are destined for the junkyard as newer ones are built to replace them. In Unity, we placed invisible buttons over the boxes that say "Restart" and "Quit."

These are some of the robot parts that might appear on the player's counter. In a finished version of the game, the cards needed might correspond to the type of part that shows up, but for now they're just for visuals.
These are some of the part icons on the cards. Each robot requires a different, randomized set of cards out of four different types.
